Yes---- Water ca be turned into steam and then produce electricity. Treated fresh water is better though.
If there was a cheap way to turn sea water into electricity it would be already in use.
If you are one of those that think the oil companies are preventing people from developing better energy ways then you are very much mistaken.

there is a another option in getting electricity from sea.
as u do know that there is a difference in temperature in deep sea and the surface. this deference in temperature can be used to genrate electricity,
there is a theory called seebeck effect : when two different material of two defferent compositon are join to gether having to junctions and put in two different tempearature and the junction is closed in a circuit there is emf generated in between the two juncion ie. current flow in the circuit. this current is depends on the difference in temperature ( propotional) using many junctions like this in sereies will help in genetationg more electricity.

Yes, tidal generators have been constructed in France, Russia and Canada since the 1960's. Other sea water sources are tidal stream generators, wave power generators, and ocean thermal energy conversion.

Yes, it is possible. as long as there is a dam/reservoir wherein you can let sea water pass through. in that way, electricity is produced by a generator.

Using tidal motion, you could have the wave movement push and pull a plate that was connected to a cam that was connected to a gyro that would hold a charge. like those emergency radios that you wind up. there are already tidal power sites around the globe, but not as effective as wind power or solar. but solar cells need replacing and are expensive, while wind power generators are noisy and cant be near towns.
