Is it the 'just?' or is it the 'friends?'

Could we change the let down so that we say... "Let's GET to be friends??"

I think it's because many people don't take the time to get to know each other as friends; I actually read in a Cosmopolitan article recently some things that really made me understand that I know a lot about the way a man's mind works, and that's why I've been able to be better friends with them than women over my short years. It's a comfort to me to know that I can be "just friends" and still find a best friend in the process :)

Or let's HAVE friendship. Lol. It's only negative if you're in love with the person telling you that. It,s awful then, cuz you know you'll have top see the person over and over again (otherwise you're not really friends) but that nothing is going to happen. You need to be quite strong for it not f*cking you up.

If you're not in love though, well it's not negative at all. One never has too many friends. I don't think we should use "just". Friendship can be a very complete relationship!

Friends sure are a hell of a lot better to have than lovers. Lovers come and go and most never last very long but friends quite often last a life time.

If it is just sex you want the go get it because there are many out there just witing for the opertunity.

It's a negative cuz it means there is no longer hanky panky involved with "just friends". It really doesn't matter how you say it, it's still a let down.

It depends....if you say lets just be friends it means that the other person wants you to be more than "just" friends....if you say let's get to be friends, it connotes that you have'nt known each other that much yet.

"Just friends" or "Let's be friends" is only negative when one loves but not being loved back.

Normally, "Let's get to be friends" would be the most positive statement to make friends with strangers, those that you have never met or known or spoken to before.

So let's be friends, shall we?

just shows restriction. It draws a line. There should be no line in friendship. Friendship like love is beautiful. You never say- "We're just lovers" or "we're just relatives" then, why "just" friends?

I say replace "just" with "good".

Can't do that to "Just married" though. ;)

And yea, we can change.

How about we change it to "just friends with benefits".

I think that would take care of some of the letdown...

It's not you, it's me. Actually, being "just" friends with a girl can be quite rewarding. I've no complaints.

Here here, and how about it's me not you. That's the one I'd like to see changed!
