this guy he likes me and i like him too but he acts shy around me but he looks really tough from outside and all of his friends are really tough and outgoing. so i am not so sure wether to trust him

Speaking to people calmly and comfortably is a skill not everyone has. Get him in situations where he feels more like opening up, the park, an outing with a few friends, community events. We all have different sides, see what is inside.

Some guys will be like it; shyness may be his nature and should not come in your way, not to trust him. He will learn to behave manly as he is friends with you.,
I too was shy until I married. Now, I can talk freely with any other women.

why do women always have trust issues with shy guys? they are the one's you can trust the most, although i dont get what your trying to ask... i would say go for him....
