For me it is Google Earth. I am a gepgraphy and mapping buff. I enjoy being able to zoom in on places that I have never been.
I Like Yahoo answersto kill time and sometimes learn something useful. Sometimes let loose a tirade of angst on someone who does not have a clue what they are talking about.

I need TRANSLATIONS quite often, so my most useful site is :
http://babelfish.altavista.com/
but it must be used with caution! Accurate computer translating is a long way off, and some results obtained here are quite hilarious! To be sure that you have not been given a truly bad translation, for example one that is the exact OPPOSITE of the intended message (believe me -- this really does happen!), you will need to reverse translate the result. The new result should be close to your original sentence, else you need to tinker with the original input, trying simpler sentence construction, maybe.
Without this website I would be really lost. Using a dictionary for word by word translation of long sentences in an unfamiliar language is a pain.
Most amazing to me is the fact that ENGLISH is not quite as universal as we are led to believe. Many people in Europe hardly know a word of English, so communication with them must of necessity be in their own language.
The cool aspect of this? Well, I am slowly picking up other languages, word by word, and sentence by sentence, and learning something new every day.
