So far I believe some people still believe the stereo type of Goth/Punk/Emo but if I'm nice to you will you still hate me because I'm wearing something different?

When I was younger I always wanted to be like 'those girls' because I always thought that being "one of them" would make me fit in. Well, time has passed now and do you really know what I think? I could care less if I don't fit in, as long as I'm happy with my style.

Remember that these people don't like you not because of what you're into but because you're unique and maybe that makes them envy you. Hate is such a strong word sometimes...no one can hate you for what you like or look like because, like everyone else, these people can't judge you.

No one will live your life. It's YOU who's got to live it. So go ahead and do that got/emo/punk thing. Start changing the way you think -- If you're happy then the world's happy.

I have a friend who doesn't care whether a person's a goth, an emo, a punk, etc. She just hates it when those types of people try too hard that they couldn't carry it. In short, some looked like posers, and have self-issues. So I guess that's what some people think and feel towards them subconsciously. It's better to just be yourself, whatever and whoever you really are. Don't try and push yourself to be something that you're not. If you're an emo type, then fine--if that's what you really are. I also have a friend who took a very long time before he found his real identity... and while he was still in that process, lots of people misunderstood him and almost hated him but couldn't do anthing about it. So I guess for those who are still confused in their real identity, it's okay to discover them as you would want how... just don't look stupid. There are lots of ways to do it, you don't have to join the band.

Obviously, you are still very young. I don't care what you look like, but people who have to look and act different are looking for attention. They are not secure enough within themselves to just be a regular person. Get a good education no matter what.

I hope you out-grow this before you go out into the real world, because if you don't, you won't have much of a choice when it comes to jobs.

Sorry, but this is just the way the adult world is!

You are still young and feeling the affects of other peoples remarks. As you get older you will realize that people don't care what you look like. The young are still trying to find out who they are and go through many different styles. Truth is, and I know it sounds crazy, but you won't even be into the things your into now, later in life. The only people I don't like are the ones who are disrespectful. I don't care what your doing. If i see a bunch of kids causing trouble then I label them as trouble. But, your world will change, and the people you call your friends now won't be in your life in 10 years. So, do what you like and enjoy your youth. Someday you won't even care about dressing up. You will get up and start doing the 9 to 5 job and won't care about taking time to put in piercings and put on black eyeliner. That will all be small to you later.. Trust me....

Because they divide themselves off from the rest of humanity rather than aknowlaging their commonalities. I think that all these marketing catagories AKA subcultures are basically the result of having a weak ego (not being weak, but having an ego sense that is weak) that causes people to both seek out artificial commonalities with others within some "special" group and to deny the real commonalities with the human race and their genuine sociological, economic and political place within society in a quest for both a sense of identity and a sense of individuality - it cannot actually provide either of these however.

I can very much understand this state of being and the needs which it appers to fulfil, but ultimatly I think it is destructive from the point of veiw of the human race, and unfulfilling from the point of veiw of the individual.

I dont hate you for who you are. I respect other people and their differences. As long as you aren't hurting anyone, you have the right to be emo if you want.

You have the right to free expression. Go for it. Yes, you'll get attitude from some people but it will make you a stronger person to stand up for what's important to you. Ignore the people who don't know a thing about you but think they can judge you.

i don't hate u for being a weirdo,lol. i am joking.

u know all through my teenage years , people have not liked me too much. i think its because of my sarcasm and goofiness and extremely low self esteem. it took me years to accept myself. when i was younger i used to imitate the behaviors of the popular kids at school. it didn't work, i had no one's respect (not even from me). now that i accept myself, my strength kind of shines through and most people actually like me. such irony that all my life trying to change myself for others to like me and it doesn't work but the minute i stop others come around.

thats what u need, strength to live life without worrying about what others think of u.
