If you bought the car "brand new" you should be able to take it anywhere in the country and have warranty work done. As long as its the right brand of dealer-obviously. We warrant people who buy at competitors where I work.

I don't know what planet dave w. is on but car dealers love warranty work. They get paid at book rate which is billed to the maufacturer and guess what! When they have your car there for a warranty repair most dealerships want their mechanics to give the car the once over. How many times have you gone to a dealer for warranty work and they didn't suggest you needed something else? It may be as small as an oil change or wiper blades, but it's all money makers. Also if you purchase a vehicle in the U.S. all dealerships of that manufacturer are bound to repair your vehicle under warranty. You might not get V.I.P. treatment if you didn't by the car there but they will fix it. In the rare case where the service manager is less than enthusiastic just remind him/her that if theres a problem making a warranty repair you have no problem in contacting the vehicles manufacturer to lodge a complaint. That should get you satisfaction.

U.S. car dealer service departments HATE warranty work. Toyota and Honda service depertments are actually encouraged to do the work and do it pleasantly.
The way the big three reimburse service departments for the warranty work is by a set schedule: a 30,000 mile service pays X dollars. What you pay the dealer, if anything, doesn't come near the actual cost to the dealer and the corporate reimbursement only comes close. This means that if you buy a U.S. car in Kansas and want it serviced in Ohio you're going to get a hassle.
I know a guy who bought a Toyota van in Memphis and had his sliding door malfunction in St. Louis. The dealer said they just don't want people driving around in their stuff looking raggety. Fixed it for free.
Take that Ford, Chrysler and Generous Motors!

They may give you some static, but they are suppose to warranty the car in any dealership. They get paid for the warranty, so don't know why the might complain.
