I live in Alaska but do not use contacts as my eyes are to dry. You should not have any problems with your contacts, but I would still see what the manufacture says and what your Op. has to offer on the subject. Good Luck with your new job, dress warmly and buy good expensive socks or ware a light nylon sock with a heavy pile sock oven the lighter nylon... Good Luck..

If you are going to be exposed for long periods to that sort of temperature I would recommend you get a pair of glasses, if the contact lenses freeze on your eyes you are going to have some bad damage, and if they are the flexible type the characteristics could change in that temperature.

I was in Iceland during their coldest February for years and the hair on my head was freezing; however my lenses were fine but I was blinking more often (I have soft contacts). If you are in an area with high cold wind then I would suggest wearing clear glasses over, to stop the cold wind stinging your eyes.

i would think so. it'll probably freeze the liquid contact between your eye and the lens. i would contact an optometrist. if you can't get in contact with one before you leave, wear goggles to keep some heat pockets around your eyes
