Some people just aren't very friendly but even enemies can sometimes work together. Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig wouldn't even talk to each other but won several world championships in Baseball. If this lady is interfering with you getting your work finished by not providing answers to your questions it is time for a talk. Ask her if there is anyway she could be a little more helpful before you go to your supervisior for help. You may ask the boss to set up a conference with the three of you to iron out differences if the lady will not solve problems but only continues to create them. In the meantime try to be as pleasant as you can and don't let her "get to you". We don't have to allow others to upset us. Concentrate on the other things in your life that are more pleasant and let her always see you smile.

I had exactly the same problem a few years ago with my supervisor - she was a nasty piece of work who spoke to me like I was a piece of s h i t, she always made comments about my weight, hair etc and when I was pregnant she went round the whole of work telling people my baby was a one night stand!!!
I told my boss I was getting sick of the way she was speaking to me and others, but all my boss said was "Oh just ignore her it's her age" (she was in her early 60s)I felt this wasn't good enough so one day I was that p i s s e d off I lost it and had a right go at her, she threatened to tell the boss so I said "Do it I don't care" she didn't though and it did shut her up..... for a while anyway!!!

Great question
You have got to be more professional and better at work than she is...
No one likes people like that and the bosses will know what she is like.
If you 'turn the other cheek' so to speak, make sure that your boss knows when you ask her for stuff so it can not be ignored..(email every request through and copy her boss on them)...she will hate you even more for doing it, but she will have to complie...force her out by being especially nice but always covering her a*ss...

Keep the distance, as much as possible. Try not to intersect with her and behave in a distant way when it happens.
Tell the boss about the customer problem.

Don't you wish adults would act like adults and quit playing childish games like this chick is obviously doing?! People like her make life and work hard on everybody! She's probably a miserable person on the inside, if that makes you feel any better!

Take the issue to the upper management in the most appropriate diplomatic way and make them realise they have a wrong employee in the office.....

Always act respectful, complimentary, concerned and like you really care. Eventually you will forget about her and be proud that you aren't like her.
Sometimes these people have a burden that no one knows about and are unable to function normally.

It's a power trip she's on. Confront her!! Once you stand up to her, she'll back off. She is obviously threatened by you...YOU are the one in control, use it!!! And use it in a nice way....that will really **** her up.
