how do i go about getting a restraint order issued against a psycotic ex husband (not mine i am a bloke, i'm looking for information for a friend) and where can i get more information about this. any web links ext would be really appreciated.

If you are so concerned and know this friend is in danger. She must go to the police, make a complaint against him and they will advise her from there.

A visit to your local Citizens Advice Bureau would be a good starting point. They have lists of solicitors which could give your friend free advice (usually half an hour). Also your friend could go to the police to make a formal complaint. They take these things very seriously. Whichever way you choose to go, don't put it off. Things usually only get worse.
