A few weeks ago I injured my ankle through twisting it n it soon became swollen without noticing. Recenlty I went 2 the foot specialists n they said that I would need 2 get a physio 2 take a look. It doesn't hurt much except if I walk alot alot. Like my ankle is still swollen though. Is this a major injury and can it be treated?

Foot Dr is sending u to another physician? Look is the leg swollen or the ankle?

If u sprain ur ankle it's going to take a while for it to heal. I'm surprised they didn't put u in an air splint cast... it's an easy on/off support to wear while walking. U can even wear normal shoes... Soaking in warm,Epsom salt can't hurt nightly either. But your going to have to prop the leg and rest it. If the swelling is your leg... u need to definitely see the orthopedist. U should see them if your ankle doesn't get better. U might have a hairline fracture or worse. Take it easy, rest the ankle and if it doesn't get better in few weeks go back to the foot doctor or orthopedist.

First u need to elevate the ankle on the edge of the sofa.
For swollen, apply ice or ice bottle.
Next step is to put a magnet off your fridge on the ankle that hurts when u do walk .This will help circulate and heal fast.
If the swoll dont go down , u have a break which needs xrays.

first aid would tell you to put on hot and cold compress alternately...

it would help the swelling subside... hope you feel better
