It's open auditions, so why not?
I'd recommend you take a supportive friend along, as you may be queuing all day. Splash out on some MAC makeup, so it'll last all that time (it's professional quality).
Meanwhile, practise different numbers... remember the theme from Titanic/Bodyguard songs are the type of stuff everyone does... maybe take a couple of lessons, as you have to sing unacompanied.
But IMO, you seem confident enough, and the worst they can do is say no (or put you in their clips show... but you say your voice is good, so I reckon they won't do that).
I never thought I'd get into the Uni course I'm on, but I did!
Best of luck... hope to see you in the next series...

Don't let anyone stand in your way!! Barge in there and give it all you've got! They are looking fo the X-FACTOR so make sure your charisma shines through the nerves! Get some singing lessons before you go so they can teach you technique etc and help you find a song that will do your voice justice. Good Luck

Go for it! You never know. As long as you are sure you can sing, do it. I do not think you are old at 35. And your voice is mature, so it can sound good.
I see no reasons for you not to give it a try.

I've often thought about it myself but don't know if i'm good enough. you should look around your area for open mic nights or kareoke nights and see the reaction you get from people then decide where to go from there. just remeber the x factor isn't all about singing if you have the personality and charisma to carry yourself off then go for it. Best of luck xx

If yo have a good voice then you are light years better than many of the acts on it. I'd say got for it - you will get some exposure (and who knows what could happen and what opportunities will present themselves?) - you wil have a laugh, and best of all you will have challenged yourself and have something to tell the grandkids.
Go for it, girl and tell us when you will be on. We'll be cheering for you!!
Good luck!

You will never find fame or fortune by singing. Sorry.
But, nevertheless, it will be a good experience, and you should give it a go. Just remember that you may not even get to see simon/sharon/louis. Only the best people (and the very worst) get to see them. A producer will give you a first audition.

You should always follow your dreams, because if you don't follow them, you may regret not doing it for the rest of your life & also, if you don't try out for these things, how do you know that you won't succeed & win it? I believe that everyone sohuld Follow their dreams. "Shoot for the moon, 'cos even if you miss you'll still be surrounded by stars"! Hope to see you on the next x-factor! xx

I say go for it, some of the contestants have been much older than you, Rowetta was 40s and she was great. I think your kids would get a big kick out of seeing you on it as well. You only have one life.

yeah, x factor it's cheesy as it is, the fact you're 35 doesn't make it more or less cheesy. If you want to, just go for it. Madonna is 48 ...

basically sing for stimulating, this is the terrific way. prevalent T.V. shows fairly isn't a sturdy concept in case you don't be attentive to approximately your voice abilities. connect a choir or making a song team for stimulating. -kadie j
