loved the first one because of: Johnny Depp, Keith Richards, an outstanding wardrobe, Gore Verbinski and the many many crates of eyeliner that must have been supplied to keep Johnny going! Ha ha. OK I admit it, I am in love with Jack Sparrow (Captain!) but really CotBP made me find out more about pirates and now I'm even doing my written piece for my first standard-grade (GCSE) exam on pirates! I loved it so much, but to tell you the truth I never saw it in the cinema.
On the other hand I saw the second one 3 times in the cinema, twice dressed as Jack (yes, very obsessed)!
I have changed my mind over this a few times but since seeing the 2nd film again I have decided that I prefer Pirates 2. The reason basically is that the first one is VERY Disney. The main romance plot, the hero, yada yada. In DMC the plot is much darker, and I like that. The baddies are scarier, the romance plot is MUCH more complicated (heh heh heh...) and the end is totally shocking! I am guessing everything will be wrapped up nice and Disney-style in Pirates 3, so I expect 2 will always be my favourite. There are my reasons, and for anyone who doesn't like reading long reviews here is the overview of my review:
I LOVE THIS ONE MORE BECAUSE IT'S DARKER AND LESS DISNEY-ISH ALTHOUGH THE FIRST ONE WAS BRILLIANT, TOO!!!
