Yes, with a few exceptions. It's not safe if you're bleeding or have a placenta that's in front of the baby's head -- they call this placenta previa. With placenta previa, if the penis comes in contact with the cervix or you have contractions as a result of orgasm, it can traumatize the placenta and cause significant enough bleeding that you lose the pregnancy. Also you shouldn't have sex if your membranes are ruptured (water breaks) because then the baby is no longer protected against any possible infection. It's also risky to have sex if it's early in your third trimester and you're having premature labor or you have a short cervix, because an orgasm can stimulate contractions. But if you're having a healthy normal pregnancy there's no risk, though as you get larger, it may be uncomfortable, requiring you to be creative about your position.

Congratulations, it is safe to have sex up until her waters break unless otherwise advised by a doctor, if a high risk of premature labour she may be advised to avoid sexual intercourse to reduce the chances of premature labour. Most pregnancy are able to have a healthy sexual appetite during pregnancy as some women's libido increases while other diminish. Sexual positions will need to change as her body grows, normally its best on her side in the spoon position with her stomach supported by a pillow. Good luck and there are many other ways of been intimate without intercourse. Best of luck with the baby.

yes it's safe, but i wouldn't agree with the guy who says 'be as rough as u want' - it's not just the baby u should be thinking of !!! pregnancy hormones change the way women's body's work, so things tend to get very sensitive 'down there'...... just be gentle... the only time u should not have sex is if u have been warned not to by her doctor / midwife. the main reasons for this would be past miscarriages, or a low - lying placenta. if she's had scans and the placenta isn't laying over the cervix, then u should be fine.

More than safe! It's ideal to keep her muscles tone to push the little one out...of course unless she is high risk and the doc has said no sex. You won't hurt her or the baby as long as she can tell you if it's uncomfortable or painful. Your positions may need to be modified but it's still a good thing as long as she is willing.

If there are no medical complications, there's no reason why you can't enjoy sex during pregnancy. Obviously you have to use your common sense and be gentle.

Yes, It is safe, of course the missionary position is out of question as pressure on the belly, etc. Just be careful and have fun! Apparently having an orgasm when pregnant makes the baby happy. as well as yourself and the expectant mother!

Absolutely, enjoy. Some positions may begin to get more difficult or uncomfortable for her but you can have sex right up to the end. Just as well because the opportunities are much more limited afterwards.
