I wouldn't advocate asking about wages. They want to know if you're fit for the job - questions about salary can come later when they've offered you the job and you can then weigh up one company against another when making your decision. Interviewers tend to look less favourably on candidates who only ask about the money, the hours and when the Christmas party is :-) They want to know why they should employ you.

So before you go to the interview, do a little research on the people you hope to be working for. Just a general idea - you don't want to put them in the Mastermind chair! lol

In the interview you could then ask what they think makes their company stand out from their competitors - you think it's because of this (blah blah blah) but what do they think? Shows interest and shows them you're not just after the dosh! (which you probably are! lol) and also that you're interested in other people's opinions.

Here's a very good question - ask the interviewer what they like most about working there. It gives you some insight into how things are, and shows them that you're interested in working conditions etc.

Interviewers like people who think and don' t trot out the same old answers to stock questions. Inspire them! take the initiative and give fuller answers that yes or no, although you don't have to take the floor! Just make yourself sound interesting, alert and intelligent.

:-)

Hello,

To be honest with you I dont think your asking the right question here. There are No! special formulas or tricks, or special questions in a job interview. Each job interview will be different for a start, and the interview will depend upon the skill of the person conducting the interview (oh! and how experienced they are at doing interviews too!).

**If you want some advise about job interviews, then No.1 remember a job interview is a total articial situation and one thats unlike any other situation too.

**No.2 just be yourself!! & try not to let any nervous get in the way of answering questions.

**No.3 You must listen well and try not to give long rambling answers, keep the answers you give brief and to the point.

**No.4 Give answers that show your intelligence and demonstrate your interest in the position being offered.

**No.5 Dont forget to ask questions back about the position, duties and responsabilities & hours of work, etc. If you dont ask as you go along by the time the interview comes to an end you wont have any time left to ask these things.

No.6 DONT allow the interviewer to do ALL the question asking in the interview.

**No.7 DONT be too desperate for this job otherwise that will show or come across as a negative quality to the interviewer. Whats required is a calm yet responsive interested atitude i.e. try to be positive.

If you can follow some of the above you will naturally increase the chances of being selected for the job in my opinion.

Good luck with that.

Ask some questions about the company, who are their clients, some technical questions - eg. software they use, working methods, where would your working-place be and exactly what they expect from your work.
Make some research about the company before the interviews, that is very good to make a good impression. Highlight the skills about you that you think they need to improve the work performed in the company, but also your colleagues skills.

Good luck!

Precise job responsibilities, how is performance measured, how often is salary reviewed, is it linked to performance?
Company mission (sounds obvious, but not all companies have one), company values
Prospects, training schemes, promotion possibilities
Salary, Benefits, Pension Plans, Stock plans etc...
As a hiring manager for many years, people who ask these type of questions are looking forward. I always wanted to hire people better than me, that way I could get promoted, and as a result the people I hired moved up the ladder too.

Show that you've done some research on the company before you go to the interview by asking relevant questions about their strategy or expansion plans or something like that. Ask what they do to induct new staff - don't forget that you need to make sure they're the right employer for you not just them seeing if you are right for them.

At the end of the interview when they ask you if you have any final questions; ask them if there is anything else they would like you to clarify or do they have any concerns over any of your answers that they would like to go back over again before you leave.

What are the wages, etc. The bolder you are, the more chance you have. Try to stand out, without being cheeky(well, maybe just a little cheeky). Good luck xx
