Because people are not ready to accept the facts what is happening in their real life. Having so much of desire beyond their limits and they want to get it by crooked way, and sometimes coincidentally it happens they started believing it strongly.

I've never met anyone who does. But for those who do, imagine all the people who believe in various religions, its the same thing just that instead of guidelines set forth hundreds or thousands of years ago, they're set forth on a daily basis. What's more fantastic: a person who looks at the stars and predicts a strangers future? or a person who packed up a boat with two of EVERY species on earth and waited out a global flood? People will believe a lot of strange things.

because they belive it works. why else would they believe an astrologer? its just like why do people believe preachers or rabis or any religous leaders for that matter, because they belive in the religion they are teaching.
