Read.
I don't mean read and then plagerize. But a lot of the times reading works by other authors often spark inspiration.
Another thing is to do writing drills. I've had a hard time finding any worth while drills online but I'm sure if you went to a local library you could find books on writing that have certain drills in them.
Also...like Hugo writing naked...that's just something that varies from person to person. I like to soak my feet in my bath tub when I write. I can't say that the same method would work for you.
If you can't find any good writing exercises feel free to e-mail me and I can send you some. Actually...another good thing for breaking writer's block is talking to other writers. Sometimes if you show your work to other writers they can come up with suggestions of things you can try with your story that can help break writer's block.

Free associate for a few minutes. You can start out with a theme if you wish. Write down anything and everything that comes into your mind for a set period of time. It doesn't even have to make sense. You may get stuck on the same word- it's ok. Don't censor yourself. Then go back and cross out all the garbage. Keep the intetresting phrases and thoughts, and build on those.
Also, keep a pen and pad by your bed. The most creative ideas can come to you in a state of relaxation or in dreams. Write down your dreams immediately when you awaken.

I completely agree with man_in_the_box, nothing is more irritating than having a ton of ideas whilst in town and not having pen and paper to jot them down on, over a cup of mochacinno. As 'Man' said, different pens (colors and sizes and weights) and different paper (homemade paper, store bought paper, pads, notelets) can all bring on tons of different ideas at different times. have pen and paper by your bedside too at all times. Jot down memories of dreams, even if it's just fragments. 6 different dreams led to the start of my first novel. Also, why not take a pad and paper and go for a walk. I usually walk along the promenade and stop halfway. then i just stand and look, and listen, and feel what i can around me. the sea breeze inside my nose and along my arms, the Christmas lights or the flashing lights of the amusement arcades, the sound of the sea crashing against the rocks. I stand there for ages, as long as i can stand the cold. jotting little notes. then go back home and spend time trying to make sense of it all. Good luck, i hope this helped you some =)

Blast your favorite music as loud as your ears can stand and stair at a blank wall (either white or black paint color works best). Or try stairing into a candle flame for a few minutes on end. This works for me!

1.- Isolate yourself from everything and everyone, at least for some hours.......
no music, no sounds, etc.......
if this doesn´t work for you, then go to 2
2.- Do all the contrary, go out and speak to people you don´t even know...go to a park and begin chatting about anything, weather, politics, etc.....talk to as many people as possible...
Go home and think about all the strange people you met.....
This should do the trick

talk to yourself. Write down random words that you think of. Watch tv. Play video games. Ask yourself WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE WHY, HOW Lay upside down. Sing out loud. sing in the shower. Talk to yourself in the shower. Paly with toys like barbies or little action figures. Read. I know most of my ideas came to me in the shower nad they still do!

Lots of sex and a good night's sleep usually does the trick for me. My wife loves that solution.
