dunno, maybe there is a thrill in broaching a cultural "taboo" associated with it. as in " we can & and you cant" in regards to its useage.

To me it is an artifical cause for rage. How can a single word be the sole property of a single race to toss about as they please, yet taboo for anyone else to use it? How can a word be so firmly established into a cluture, into its music, humor, and lexicon,....yet be such a flashpoint of rage and hostility if used outside in any context by a member of another race.

Is this not also a subtle form of racism as well? The forbidding of a certain act solely based upon anothers racial makeup?

I think they use it as part of their cultural celebration. When listening to black comedians it is used in nearly every sentence. The words b****, W****, F*** are also included in every sentence. Actually I thought Bill Cosby was extremely funny and he did not use those words.

they're trying to reclaim it. they're trying to take away the history of the word, diminish the power it had/has when used by white people. feminist are trying the same thing with c*nt except bring back its history (it used to mean "wise woman" or something)

That is something I never understood. It's degrading no matter who uses it. Nor do I understand why Blacks are not considered racist when they use racial terms to describe other races.
