it doesn't quite say 40 feet giants, but you talking about the nephelmim (can't spell) they were the offspring of humans and angles and they were killed off when the flood came, have a look in Genesis i think they were also called men of fame

"There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown." Genesis 6:4.
The children born to these Cainite women were no different than any other children born at that time. I dont know if the giants in the bible were forty feet but i do know that giants of considerable sizes existed and they were called 'The Nephilims"(Genesis 6:4). These giants came about with the union of some disobedient angels that came down to the earth to have sexual relations with humans but they were all destryed in the flood of Noah's day. Another mention of a giant was that of Goliath who David killed with a sling and a stone.

That is news to me. I have read of 16 ft. and Goliath was 10 ft. tall but, I never heard of 40 ft tall giants. It is not unreasonable to believe that the giants protected smaller humans from dinosours. Entire races of giants existed and where more numerous than today's giants. It is an interesting aspect to the creation story.

i don't know about 40 feet tell, but the nephalum were the fallen angels cast out of heaven to reside on earth. They reproduced with the women on earth and created giants that were exterminated with the flood of Noah
