My Doberman a 4 year old female named Vida found me and helped me to find my way out of the smoked filled house if Vida had not come in to find/save me I beleve Iwould have died for sure

SOME HOW SHE KNEW WHERE I WAS AND KNEW HOW TO GET OUT .......I owe my life to her.................My dog bravely came from the safety of the outside into the house on fire to rescue me and my wife just stood there not helping .....I would never ever do that to her.
So

In case I die suddenly can I leave my savings/assets to Vida and not my Wife&kids/family
And if I out live my Dog can I leave it to Animal charity or the dog I have at that time....What are the laws?

Thanks....R

most definitely, and i would too. you will have to assign an execuetor of your estate though so pick someone who you are sure will abide by your wishes. and be sure to leave the wife $1.00 that way she cant contest the will.

Ive saved a dog also, although in a different way to your story. I used to walk to school past this house everyday and there was a german shepherd dog always leaning up against the fence. She always looked so neglected and sad. Then the owners went away on holidays for 2 weeks and left her with no carer, just a big bag of kibble ripped open and a bucket of water. So I took her. She had been abused and was afraid of the broom and all sorts of things. My family wanted to keep her also. When the owners came back I marched up there and told them they were not getting her back, they surrendered her and we had her for 14 years. She was 2 at the time. I saved her from a life of neglect and abuse and who knows what her fate would have been if we didnt have her. We all still miss her, she was such a character and was my best friend growing up. Im 34 now and if I see a dog on the street with no owner looking lost I will always bring them home and try and find where the dog came from. Im surprised at how many people would just ignore the dog. I hope you find the dogs owner, Im sure they are missing their dog very much. It goes to show the importance of micro chipping. Take care. I would like to know.......how do you know your wife did nothing, and why do you want to disinherit your children? Why don't you just leave the marriage? When you speak of your children being left out like your wife, do you wonder WHY maybe she wouldn't help? I think you really need to reconsider your question and try moving on with your life.
Good Luck in what ever you decide to do. This is a SAD way to feel about family.

if it's your wife you want to get at, then get at your wife, but don't punish the kids and the rest of your family, that's not fair.

p.s brill choice of dog, a to have a female doberman and i love her dearly.
it's a shame that dobermans aren't remembered for their courageous behaviour rather than just be assumed aggressive because of their breed.
well done to Vida!!!

comon be practical.........dog cant think as much as humans can,
ur dog can surly risk its life bcoz it hav nothing to loose ok.but u n ur wife have, think if ur wife n u both get hurt then who wud then lookafter ur kids then,or may b some thing happens to u then what wud b the results............so 4 such a small cause dont make it an issue and trust ur wife bcoz u hav to spend ur life wid her ,,,,,n if u think so then talk to her abt this topic jst dont act as if u have lost everything ok n 4 ur dog ,keepon loving him. And its a human nature .........treat the life the way it comes ok good luck

I admire what u want to do for ur dog, but how old r ur children, if only youngsters, surely u would want to provide for them. In some states with community property, means ur assets are half urs, half ur wifes. Should u not outlive ur dog, u can make some provisions for her in ur will, such as who will look after her and see that she receives proper care and attention as long as she lives. The bulk of ur estate should go to ur children. If spite of a possible contesting, u can leave ur money to whom u please.

Wow, your dog is amazing!....you can leave your assets to whoever you want to, its a shame your wife didnt try and save you, i would have done for my partner, she could of just been gripped with fear who knows, but i would be extremely upset if my fiance hadnt tried to rescue me.xx

Your wife probably set the house on fire and told the dog to go in and burn with you.

Jerk.

Get a life
Humans are programmed with self preservation she was probably frozen with fear. Sounds like she told the dog to go and find you yes????
