Politicians have turned lying into a fine art and have excelled to the point where beating a lie detector would be no problem. Little Johns no GST is my personal favourite. If by some freak of nature they did work you would need quite a few on hand as I am sure burnout would be a big problem.

Jeez talk about opening a can of worms... ha ha ha

All our politicians need reality checks and everyone knows it but no one wants to give them one.

I personally think that if we had a true and honest politician we wouldn't know about it because we'd all have died from a heart attack! ..... OOPS

Seriously though I think lie detectors would help to keep some in check but there are and always be those who can beat the machine. How about our politicians start letting us Aussie VOTE on the really really big issues instead of assuming that they know what we all want!

Build a bridge prawn74.
Politicians are politicians. They're the elite of salesmen.
You either vote them in yourself, or you choose not to vote, & let others vote them in for you.

Alternatively, you could get off your butt & put your money where your mouth is. Are you brave or charismatic enough to get out there & pull in votes for YOUR policies and promises? Do you have what it takes to make good on your promises in the face of nasty opposition & dirty game-playing?

By the way, I'm no politician..just probably quite a few years older than you, cynical & disillusioned.

Polygraphs are misguided adequate to create genuine looking doubt interior the outcomes, yet whilst they have been reliable adequate to matter on your theory might coach exciting. i ask your self who could have been extra probable to bypass a try, Obama or McCain. i do no longer purely like the possibilities of Bush or Clinton passing an precise lie detector try! it incredibly is all pie interior the sky besides. they might declare that polygraph testing is a threat to national secure practices, and it might unexpectedly become an infringement on constitutional rights if politicians had to take them.

I am not from Australia, but lie detectors have been proven to be not 100% accurate, as there are many ways to beat them.

Honesty check must be required for candidates because during the campaign, they promise many projects to the voters but after being elected to their positions, they forget and just cite, "promises are said to be broken" claiming there are no government funds.
