Someone who had been my friend for 20 years said "You're a basically unlikeable person." That was crrrrrruel, and it took me about a year to realize that 1) no-one in the world is unlikeable, why would I be so special 2) my other friends like me and 3) he's kinda an ****** and just said it to be mean.

I once dated a very educated guy in college. I am intelligent and also educated, but I tended to not express that side of myself when with friends.
He told me that one of his friends asked why he was with someone so obviously less intelligent. Then, he proceeded to tell me his response to this friend. He said, "When I come home from teaching at whatever college I end up teaching, I want to be able to say, 'Aren't the stars pretty?' to my wife and just have her agree w/me."
This happened 17 years ago, and I still struggle with feeling stupid.
Gee, for some reason I never did marry that one...

I had someone at work ask me if I could change the ring on my cell phone because it was annoying, that was dumb, now he has a cell phone with an annoying ring and his girlfriend calls every couple of minutes, that was harsh to me because nobody in their right mind would think they had a right to demand you to change something that you are paying for. Sorry, I live a sheltered life. LOL

That I looked like drag queen and I was a whore. Boo, hoo. I was/am so hurt. I do lift weights and workout and I am engaged. I should have body slammed the b*tch that said those things, but I am to nice and to much of a lady. A muscular lady, but still a lady.

It wasn't said to my face, but someone said I wasn't the type of girl a guy would want to take home to meet his mother. Odd since both of the mother in laws I've had love me.

i love to read. but since I'm a quiet person i don't go discuss what i read with my friends. i love Salman Rushdie's books. once i was reading one when a friend of mine came over. she took a look at the book and asked me 'can you understand?'
she though that I'm not intelligent enough. that hurt. but i learned not to care. because people who cares about me know who i really am and what I'm capable of.
