GSM is considered to be the global standard for cell phones. It is much more common to find a cell company using GSM wherever you may travel. CDMA is limited to USA and Asia (with some exceptions). GSM also has a better 3G option, known as HSDPA. HSDPA allows voice and data at the same time while CDMA's 3G version, known as EV-DO does not. I hope this helps to answer your question. CDMA is largely US only (and very few other countries)
GSM is the rest of the world including USA. Because of the larger market for GSM, GSM handsets are cheaper. Also if you plan on travelling abroad, GSM is the option to go for.

i dont know in which country u do live in but it deffers GSM and CDMA. GSM can provide u lots of facilites where CDMA can't.... so GSM is the best....
