I prefer female. I think a female doctor understands your body more than a male.

For general practice I prefer a female because when females were becoming doctors they had to work harder to get where they are and they'll be more meticulous in the generalities of medicine than a man. But, when it comes to specialty doctors always a man.....plain and simple, when it comes down to it a man will be better at specialties than women. Do the math and the research and you will find this out: More hair stylists are women, but the best are considered men. More cooks in america are women, but the best are men. More specialists in medicine are men because women could not make the higher grades in the long run. Women are pre-disposed to being more emotional about an issue so it is good to have them taking care of you in general, but when it comes to brain surgery I want a man. A female.... i feel scared and uncomfortable around a male doctor and I rather keep the reason to my self...i hate talking about that part!!

I depends what I need to see a doctor for.
For a minor thing I'll see anyone, But for the girly things I like to talk with a female. They just understand!

As i live in the religious country , i think absolutely it depends on the culture of the people who are going to be cured,for example in the Islamic countries in the middle east ,people and special women prefer to refer to female doctors.

I prefer a female Dr it makes me more comfortable cus I could talk to her from woman to woman when I'm going thru something and I think she would understand me more.
and if it's going to be a guy I rather go with an older more experience Dr.
I'm not comfortable with young male Dr's.
I guess cus I know one and have seen him partying before and I just can't picture him as a Dr.
