Is there really a god? And if there is, did "He" put life on other planets too? I mean, how, just how, of all the planets in all the galaxies is this the only planet to have life? Does anyone else agree that there HAS to be other planets with other lifeforms?

Let's take the religious aspect away from this question first. Even if we assume that there is no God, then the probability of other lifeforms existing elsewhere in the universe is extremely high.

Even in our "visible" universe taking the number of stars with the ratio that are expected to have planets, with the ratio of those that should have planets capable of supporting life, with the ratio of those where life has actually started, we still come out with a significant number. When we start thinking about the concept of the "multiverse" with the existence of other dimensions, then this becomes mind-boggling.

Coming back to religion, it is a natural aspect of the human mind that we should see ourselves as central to the importance of the universe. So it was when we thought ourselves to be the centre of the solar system and, no doubt, so it will be as and when we discover something outside the currently visible universe.

I think most people (other than creationists) see the story of Genesis as an allegory. I personally see no clash at all between my scientific views and my beliefs as a Christian. If God created life, why should he have not created it elsewhere as well as on Earth.

So the answer to your question is, yes.........there has to be other planets (or indeed moons) with life on them, may be even within our own solar system !

There is one thing that i would like to point out here. The light that reaches us, comes from a long way off. So we do not know the present state of the Universe. Second, scientists go according to a probability factor of whether life would start evolving on a planet. And since there are billions of stars in the universe and most of them have planets, even though the chance of life evolving on a planet is extremely small, this side is balanced by the fact that there are so many planets. We do not know for sure whether there is life out there, but we hope and chase these hopes.
According to me, there has(or had) to be other life out there but whether we will ever know about it before the human race is extinct, is a mystery

Earth is the only planet with Water, Air and a normal temperature in which life can sustain itself
All other planets in outer space have extreme conditions that are not suitable for life to evolve

We know nothing about possible life on planets of other stars. Life exists on earth because of a coincidence of many essential factors:
- Right size, to hold some atmosphere.
- Right distance from the sun, so the temperature is proper.
- Right chemistry -- earth made from supernova debris to contain heavy elements.
- Moon, to mix up the oceans and put organic molecules in proximity. (This is not yet proven.)
And no, there doesn't "have" to be other planets with life forms, but it would not be surprising if so. But it would be surprising in the extreme if we found out about it. It is not necessary, nor is it useful, to posit a god to have been involved in any of this.

NASA is the direct result of this very question. Some believe that we are truly special and that "God" made life only on this one planet and gave us the entire universe as our sky to enjoy.

Others believe that this is one of many civilized planets that God created. And still others believe that God had less to do with it and that the conditions were just right for life to evolve here, and perhaps on other planets as well.

Earth may not be the only planet with living creatures. I think there are many life forms out there without knowing each other.

Try and read closely on Genesis.
The answer is there.
Living human kind have been taking life for granted on planet earth.
Were fooling around with science and mathematics.
Were getting themselves into troubles with our creator on planet earth.
See you can find the existence of little ET footprints coming out of the water and grew to like salt in planet of apes.
Will know how ET leave with time in becoming a pillar of salt in planet of apes.

One has to be very closed-minded, to believe that we are the only planet with sustainable life forms. We, as humans, know only what we have proven to be. What we don't know is ... how many galaxies are really out there? Are there galaxies, within galaxies, within galaxies, within galaxies? ....

IMO ... ours is most defiantly not the only planet with sustainable life forms .... and it would be silly of one to think as such.

because 1. earth has atmosphere generated by the earth's magnetic field. the atmosphere filters the rays coming from the sun so that the living organisms get only the amount that wouldn't fry them. 2. earth has water. water is life. everything started with water.3. earth has a moon that shields it from asteroid attacks although there are still some that hits earth and this is only circumstantial.

However life came to be, all we know is what is here. We can't really see very far or go far out in space. There is so much out there, I can't believe there is no other life anywhere.
