Geographically it's part of both continents with most of the land mass being on the Asian continent. Asia wouldn't be the largest continent if all of Russia was part of Europe. Politically and culturally, however, it seems to be more European than Asian.
On a side note, I'm from Asia as well and have read articles and books on how Russia is a part of both.

Both. Though most of the land area of russia is in asia, as the capital moscow is located in europe, russia has been a european political player.
And going by the definition of the continent of europe extending uptil ural mountains, which is inside russia, russia is spread across both asia and europe.

In terms of geography and its history, Russia is aligned to both Europe and Asia. However, in terms of culture, race (although Russians have the inheritance of the Mongoloids aside of being Caucasians; Baku Khan for example) and political aspects, it is aligned to Europe.
