Silk stockings are very expensive $40.00 to $60.00 per pair, and although very luxurious, and nowhere as sheer and slippery as real100% nylon stockings, which can be bought for as little as $10.00 . Silk stocking cannot be less than 2o denier, while you can get nylons in 10 and 15 denier. Knee length socks are for 5 year old children.

Silk stockings, but if you intend to spend some time outside this time of year go with the knee lenght socks.

I'm a silk stockings kind of girl, and when I'm not wearing them, bare legs is preferable to the socks.

Silk stockings if it is for a formal outfit. Knee lengh socks if it is for an informal outfit if you are wearing a mini skirt. The kind of outfit where Ashley Tisdale wears in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.
