Patriots are those who abide by the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and the given laws of the land. They can be either liberals or conservatives. It is the interpretation and application of those initial doctrines which separates people. Both can be patriots. Both see themselves as patriots although their perspectives differ. I hope this clarifies and doesn't add to the confusion.

I believe all Americans are patriots,
Maximum are liberals,
But I like the conservatives, who concentrate more on human and family values.

neither term has anything in common...
PATRIOT =a person who loves, supports, and defends his or her country and its interests with devotion. REGARDLESS of political affiliations or personal beliefs ( i.e. atheists and all other religious types seek to preserve and protect the country and their fellow citizens...
activist judges ignore the law because they believe a rapist (child or adult) should be punished by imprisonment as the prison system doesn't rehabilitate the rapist....
the convicted rapist + criminal but gets probation???, .. officials do favors in return for a generous donation or other favor/perk
LIBERALS = favoring or permitting freedom of action, esp. with respect to matters of personal belief or expression: ie NAMBLA, or talk out a deal where everyone comes away "not offended", offering appeasement or treats in return for "better (or quiet) cooperation
To say one supports troops is far different than actually doing what can do...
the other big glitch is that the LIBs tend to complain about ""getting our kids,young men women etc killed . Its is ludicrous to state let alone belive that the military is comprised of
children forced into danger....volunteer military duh...

The Founding Fathers were the liberals of their time. Most liberals that I know are not liberal because they hate America, but because we LOVE America, and know that as wonderful as our country can be, it can still be better.
