Allegedly, I have heard that "the frog" can be alive after the frog dissection experiement in the high school. However, I am not sure this is true or not, because I can't find the real case over the Web. If there's some real case, please aloow me to know. Thanks.

From what I remember, all the animals that we dissected in high school were kept in formaldehyde and therefore already long dead. This was to permit many students to study the same animals and keep the bodies for longer and smellier. ;)

At least in my schools in NJ, this would not be possible.

That is not possible since normally, during dissection, the frog's heart is removed. I know of computer programs. Also, they put the frogs in phermaldehyde which is an agent that preserves the body, so the frog is no longer alive way before they get to the classroom. They also pack the bodies in with dry ice to store and keep them cold until they reach the classroom or school which is another thing that the frogs could not live through.

Sandra was correct. Frogs that you dissect in school are kept in a bag or container filled with fluid to preserve them. They are long dead before you get to dissect them. It would be pretty hard to dissect anything if its alive and moving around.
