a false sense of security? as in... a false sense of security in one's country? (i am doing a paper on ancient Romans and gladitorial combat, by the way)

like, oh my gosh, there is a reason why i didn't go to thesaurus.com and type in false sense of security because i am using a phrase and not a word.

how insulting some of you people are!

amazingly enough, i am actually writing a rather intelligent research paper and had a mental block. instead of wasting my time sitting here forever contemplating every other way to say what i wanted, i decided to ask here. i believe that is probably one of the major reasons as to why this section is here... for people who can't remember a word they want to use...

for those who have actually given me real suggestions, i THANK YOU from the bottom of my HEART! hehe! really.

You could try http://www.thesaurus.com and type in insure and search antonyms or secure and then the synonyms.
