There will always be poverty. They can not be eliminated. Some poverty exists because of the poor fortune people had. But some are because of people not willing to do their best and work themselves up.

The question may how to reduce the poverty. We must look at what are the most basic thing that keeps people down.
1. housing
2. medical expenses
3. educations
4. jobs

If only we can help/assist people with the needs for affordable help on the four major categories, many people still stuck at or below poverty line.

One way is if we would help our homeless people and or people struggling to get on there feet another is Take SSI and Disability checks away from the people that don't need it the ones that can work. Improving education is the key. Educated people breed educated people.

Cracking down on crime is a must. Some people are a direct reflection of their environment. People need an alternative to crime. If the pimp and hustler making $4,000 a night on the street corner is removed, children will not have that to idolize. By making the punishment a determent, hopefully more children will grow up with fathers in their lives.

The biggest thing to fight poverty is just giving people hope. If they feel they have a chance to succeed, that is a start in the right direction. To many people today, honestly believe the government has given up on them. By giving attention to problem areas, in the way of education and crime prevention, the government can start to rebuild that trust.

The fact of the matter is that there will always be people who make less money than average. There will always be people who through luck, hard work or intelligence outperform others. And there will always be people who - for various reasons - under-perform.

In my opinion we have placed ourselves in a bad position regarding poverty in our country. Any time you create a subsidy you get an increase in what you are subsidizing. And by subsidizing poverty - we get more poverty.

Personally, I don't think that there are any perfect answers to the question of poverty.

By default capitalism has a spectrum. There is the really rich and the really poor. Given the US is a capitalistic society that can't change before US stops embracing capitalism.

Alternatives are worse because their are less winners in Socialism and communism.

It will only disapear when people willingly make sacrifice for others without reward.

When the rich stop stepping on those with nothing to become even more rich. I mean why would Donald Trump need a sink made of gold? Poverty wont be eliminated until people with money realize that there is a lot more important things that they can do.

It's to somebody's advantage to have a poverty class, otherwise it would have been eliminated long ago. Somebody needs to have a poor class in order to make them rich and powerful and they are not about to give that up willingly.

Poverty exist because there is a portion of us who are not contributing to the economy itself. There is no equal fairness as we expect others to contribute in gaining your own oart of the share. It is due to unequal distribution of income and wealth where the rich gets richer and the poor becomes poorer. A big contribution to powerty is Gov't laws and regulation can cause uneveness in their imcome and expenditure.

by eliminating the amount of money the government wastes on stupid crap!!! for example: The White House, decorates the inside, with thousands of dollars worth of decorations for xmas, since 9/11, it isn't open to the public for that any more, so why pay a huge staff, thousands of dollars to do that.....The presidential dinners.....UH, when were you last invited to one of those, where again, a HUGE staff is paid thousands, to serve meals and drinks that most people such as myself, will never be privilaged to have....How's about redecorating the White House every time their is a new president.....What about the clubs that are only attended by government officials...Camp David....Bush has his own property in Texas, why do we need a Camp David...people are on the payroll to keep that place running.....the list is endless....And how's about, government workers don't get paid for holidays, like the rest of us don't!!!! (excluding xmas and Thankgiving)....ugh!!!! I get so annoyed......
