He wont be becoming the longest reigning world no 1 , he will be setting a new record for MOST CONSECUTIVE WEEKS as No 1 .The record , which is a 30 year old record , is of 160 weeks consecutive no 1 , of Jimmy Connors , of USA.In Feb 2007 , Federer will break it and set a mark of 161 weeks.

Pete Sampras has the record of most consecutive YEARS ENDED as No 1 , that is 6 years . This year Federer ended as No 1 three time in a row .

Roger Federer has more than 90% winning ratio for the years of 04, 05, and 06 which makes him a big favorite into the year 07. When competing in matches Federer is very clam and collective compare to other players on the circuit. His forehand is powerful and his backhand is dead on when crushing his opponents, and more importantly he expels less energy in matches compare to his opponents which is a major advantage for long games and future matches. Moreover, he is able to run down the ball and struck winners that is impossible for other players to do. I believe he is the best tennis player in history accomplishing many feat that legends and current players were not able to.
