I would go with genius.. you'll get a whole bunch of scholarships, grants, loans, and other financial sources to help you.

Both will help.

If you are a genius and you can demonstrate this well in your application (with grades, recommendations, experiences, accomplishments) then you don't need money, because these schools have plenty of resources for financial assistance. (Princeton and Harvard will just give grants and don't even require that you take out any loans.)

If you are from a very rich background AND the son or daughter of someone who went to the school of choice then that will help.

You do need the intellectual capacity to attend and excel there. However, they're very generous with aid and there are numerous of other resources one could resort to.
