This is probably my last question to you all, oh sorry! Its not a question, I am just bidding goodbye to all my Yahoo! Answers friends. My dad is going to knock off our internet connection because my 'dear' sister spends half her day chatting with guys. I have been preventing him from doing it for over a month, but the situation is really ugly now. Maybe my last try will prevail!
I had a wonderful time in Yahoo! Answers. I discovered it in June when I had to prepare a 3-minute speech on a stupid English topic! Over these three-four months, I have rather got attached to it. I have learnt a lot from the the two hours I spend here everyday. Now, I daresay I could rival you with my extensive list of security and performance enhancers! OK, goodbye! :-)

I promise that I will be back, maybe after 10 years or maybe even tomorrow! Hope to see 'Danuitti' and 'Good Firefox Lover' soon!!!!!

BYE!!!

Sorry to hear you have to suffer because of the situation. Maybe your father has threatened to cut off in the heat of the moment and he will change his mind.

However, have you thought of going to download.com, search for Parental Controls, show your father the programs available so that he could possibly block your sister from the websites/instant messengers that she was using. These programs are excellent and could be the answer for the rest of the family to stay online.

Good luck

Ever thought of suggesting your dad buy a limit user application.
Theres many out there, that will limit how long a user account can stay online, or use the computer.

That would solve the problem easily. this way your sister only gets to use puter for 2 hours like you.
After that time though its all about your dads parenting style, as in if she'll just go to a friends or the library to work around it.

But if a father puts his foot down, and sticks to it, it should solve the problem.
Im surprised this has become a problem. your dad should toughen up.

Goodbye.

But before you go, could you try going into the windows firewall, going the exceptions tab, and shutting off the exceptions for the chat programs? And then uncheck the setting to display blocked programs? That would stop your sister.

oh you poor thing. I expect your dad will calm down soon enough. Especially when he realises your sister is actually safer chatting to guys online than face to face. But don't fret, there is always cybercafes. Hope you get back online soon.
