Does the stamp have the signature "A Lincoln" across the top and a purply color? If so, it is part of a set of four stamps issued in 1959 for Lincoln's 150th birth anniversary. It was issued in large quantitiy, so it's not really worth much money, but it would make a great start for a stamp collection. Check out information for collectors at http://www.stamps.org .

Go on line and find rare stamp collections and they will help you. Plus you have to have it encased in a plastic to preserve the paper or it will become worthless even if you just want to show it off to your grandchildren.
