There is no difference in meaning and little or no difference in use. Chemicals, gases or cloth materials that are flammable / inflammable catch fire and burn easily.
The word flammable is of relatively recent origin but has in many contexts, especially safety, taken the place of the word inflammable, an older term with the same meaning.

Oddly enough, there is no difference in meaning between flammable and inflammable (the correct spelling of both has a double m. :)
I believe that in use flammable is used more often with gasses or fuels and inflammable is used with cloth or more solid items but I wouldn't say that it's an actual "rule" just more of a tendency.

Flammable is generally liguid - needs air and ignition to burn, ex: furnace oil. Inflammable is generally gas and if you open to atmosphere forms the air fuel mixture and readily ignited by a spark, ex: LPG and petrol.

They mean the same thing. I checked at Dictionary.com, and inflammable was actually listed under flammable.

Flammable in the scence the time to catch fire is less . In the case of Inflammabe there is Danger the time to catch fire is faster even in milli secs.

the two words "flammable" and "inflammable"..(check the spelling)..both mean the same... i.e "easily set on fire"...
however to avoid confusion , usually the word flammable is used!!

flammable is one which burns in air. and inflammable is one which do not burns in air. it can be explained like u feel angry when any other girls(suppose u r a girl ) or other boys(if u r a boy) talk to your lover. and u wont get angry when your lover talks to the person of your lover sex
