How do I get TRUTH out of a man, w/o doing anything illegal???
I've totally busted my boyfriend (of 8 years) in some BIG FAT lies. Amazingly, he is able to get out of it because he always has some sort of twisted story. Here is an example: I call him; his phone says that he is "ON THE PHONE"..... and he tells me that I'm either lying or the phone is messed up, because he was nowhere near it. Now, the phones (cellphones) DO mess up sometimes, but this is something that HAS NEVER happened, until the past month (when he accidentally changed some phone settings)... and it has happened 5 times in a month!!! How can you PROVE someone's lying, when they REFUSE to admit it, and twist it all up and try to make you look paranoid/ delusional?? WHAT THE HELL?

The reason I'm asking about how to bust him, is because I want to be able to say "I'm breaking up with you for this ____ reason." Not: I'm breaking up with you because your story doesn't sound right." It has nothing to do with self esteem. I tried (very calmly) to get a confession out of him, but he played totally dumb and had "no memories" of any of the things I brought up. He was a closed vault. He has NO REASON to fear an aggressive or overreactive response from me. I am very calm. His fear is that he KNOWS I WILL leave him if I discover anything. I just need to figure out a way to "discover"/ have proof.

"We're Through. I no longer trust you." I mean, you could go through the time and expense of trying to squeeze the truth out of him, but it'd be pointless.

Your proof is your intuition. Personal responsibility. where are you lying to yourself and not wanting to see the truth. He is only showing you what you need to learn about yourself. It does not matter what anyone else says here you will continue to allow yourself to be deceived until are willing to follow your heart and feel The Truth. Your journey to the Truth is all ways straight and narrow. Peace with in you peace outside of you.Know your choice is all ways correct when you listen to your heart. feel the answer ,do not be logical with this or you shall ever be deceived.

If you want to break things off with him you have every right to say "I just don't believe you!& I don't trust you"
If you suspect he is a lier he more than likely is.These kind of people are very good at turning things around to make you think there is something wrong with you.

Just leave him if you are very sure that he is ditching you and there is no need to prove your decision as Mother Terresa once said that " Those who are faultless doesn't care for the opinion of others". He himself knows the truth so he will accept it.

You could note the time and date that you try to call him and his phone indicates that he is on the phone, then find a way to check his call log on his phone to see what calls he made and received, the number, time and date.

People who weave a web of lies should be left to themselves.

Don't bother with him. Leave him with "it's not you' it's me" thing.

There's no need to prove to anyone that he is lying; he should already know this on his own.
Don't waste your time being angry. It's so pointless.
