There is the old saying that the only bad publicity is no publicity at all.
Personally, I think the incident was minor. So he spouted off about black people, o well...big deal. But the point im trying to make is that this incident has put him under the radar of nearly everyone. Do you think that we can expect to see him more on and off the screen?

Whatever you guys think, but the truth is...this is the best thing that could have happened to his career, you think anyone out there in Hollywood dreamland cares about Richards opinions of any race off the screen? No, its cannon fodder for the public. The controversy raised and the argument surrounding him only proves that everybody wants to see more of him...I guarantee you that youre gonna see him alot more than you wanted to.

The only thing people love seeing more that someone making an *** out of themselves is that same person making a glorious comeback. But we'll see. People need to lighten up about race...I for one, thought the incident was hilarious on every level. In fact, when a celebrity gets humiliated...i welcome it.

It's all so pathetic. Who cares if he called a n*ggar a n*ggar!?! I get called a fat ***** now and again too, you don't see me boo-hoo-ing over it. All people are entitled to say whatever they wish rather it's right or wrong. And believe it or not, there are worse things that a person could be besides a "racist" like a mass murderer or a child molester. People need to get over it!!!

Not really, no...
Yes, he'll be in the public eye for a while, and that will give him some sort of acknowledgement, but the whole thing will die down soon enough and, unless he writes a book on it (as most seem to do over the most trivial things these days), I really do doubt it'll do anything at all for his already-dying career.
Some may've considered the incident minor, but I think that any sort of racial slur is totally unacceptable, especially these days when everyone and everything is so volatile. He offended an entire race, and embarassed both himself and those he yelled at.
As a celebrity, he has at least some level of obligation to act as a role-model to others. Sure, his time of fame and fortune was sort of fading, but that doesn't change the fact that some people do still admire him. He's setting a terrible example.

Unfortunately, no, this is a career killing move. People have trouble separating the artist from the art and no matter how talented Michael Richards is (and he is) most people will dismiss his work because of his personal beliefs. He may get a few 5-minute segments on some shock jock radio shows, and maybe a few more apollogies on late night talk shows, but his stand-up, television, and screen career is ruined for several years. Expect his next comeback in 2011 (these things have a 5 year life span).

This may have been a career ender for him. It didn't help his situation to have a terribly awkward apology televised for everyone to see.
It wasn't so much what he said but that he couldn't handle the hecklers, something that just about every comedian has had to deal with in his or her careers. Instead of dealing with the situation or ignoring the people, he goes off on a tirade and says things that are offensive (and the n-word is unacceptable, no matter who says it) and makes himself look bad.
This could've been something he could have recovered from if it hadn't been caught on tape and plastered all over the Internet. If it had happened in the days before video phones and YouTube, it would've been something people would've heard about, discussed, and forgotten because there was no evidence, just anecdotes of what people heard. Now that everyone has heard him say his rant repeatedly, it makes him look bad and nobody will want to work with him (at least in the foreseeable future).

If you think he just "spouted off about Blacks" as you put it, you obviously didn't see the clip! This guy lost his mind for about 2 minutes and went on a racist tirade that would have gotten him killed under different circumstances...he showed his true colors as far as I'm concerened and I was a minor fan before that happened. I don't think his career is over, but I think his fan base has been diminished severely and will include very few people of color, since he could go on a tirade like that simply because he had a heckler that happened to be of a different racial background.

Of course it will. Any publicity is good publicity. If you're a celebrity you can get away with anything as long as you live in the armpit of the US (California). You can commit a double murder and nearly decapitate your ex-wife and get away with it. If the victim's families are rude enough to sue you civilly then you just move to the a**hole of the country (you know that election-rigged panhandle area with the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Gulf of Mexico on the west) and live happily ever after. Richards racist tirade will increase sales of the "Seinfeld" DVDs. This is America, we don't care about African-Americans. Hurricane Katrina is pretty much proof of that.

The way things are nowadays, it's hard to tell whether or not he'll have a career improvement. I'm just sick of it always becoming a big deal, then hearing about this big public outcry whenever a white celebrity uses the "N" word. I don't know of any black celebs who DON'T use it......except for, maybe, Bill Cosby and James Earl Jones!

He somewhat did not have too lots of a occupation left interior the 1st place. i think of he have been given at a loss for words with the expression, "Any exposure is solid exposure" or whether it is going. i think of for the subsequent various years his call will carry a black mark on it. whether, i does not be too extraordinarily shocked to be sure the yank public (many times) forget approximately it in years yet to come back. I propose, how a lot of human beings somewhat bear in ideas Angelina Jollie making out together with her brother on the Oscars years back? us of a of america has a tendency to forget. And nonetheless this could be a lots sorer situation than incest is, i think of us of a of america will forget it is going to honestly.

NO -- NO ONE wants to see him -- he stinks as an actor! Never was any good, was not funny -- and there were plenty of people walking out of that performance before the heckling was a problem and he went and opened his mouth.
