I'm planning to be emo I know,Oh My God but I'm not going to cut myself or anything. But what is so wrong about emo people.I "emo" type I want to be is just look and maybe a little bit act like one but they(my friends) think it's stupid because they think of stereo type emo which is.tattooing, cutting their wrists, being mean and I think if i'm emo or not I will still be me. I guess emo is just something like fashion.

Being emo is the point isn't it? Being sad and hopeless, and no one cares especially my friends. But I'll just look like one I like the songs the only part is cutting the wrists or suicide I think THAT is just not reasonable.

Emos deny the glory of life.

If I could reach you, I would be tempted to stomp on you.

Emos are sheep asking to be sacrificed.

Why don't you just don an orange robe, and go panhandle at airports? At least you'd make some money.

Why do you want to be emo? Please explain in your notes. I'll put this on my watch list.

Please. With whip cream on top, and a little marischino cherry.

P.S. I gave you a thumbs up, you pathetic emo son of a whom-ever.

Explain to your friends why you want to be "emo". Also, what exactly do you mean by "planning to be emo" -- emo is emo, its a softer version of vamp/goth. The only difference is that vamp/goth does red, not pink. Try the style, music, w/e; have fun and don't mess up your head or get all depressed. Your friends will get used to it, and you'll probably make new friends as well who are emo.

In my personal opinion, emo is just a young thing, something from this generation that's bound to be replaced by something else in about 10 years. In the mean time, Hot Topic has some cute things (I like their earrings and Invader Zim tanks). Just don't plan to be emo in the destructive self--because that's just unhealty. But to each their own.

First off, let me introduce myself. I am Centrilius, heavy metal guitarist of 5 years, metal vocalist of 3 years, and listener-to of metal for life.

Old punk bands, Rancid and Butthole Surfers, were among the first to promote the all-black dressing style. That transcended into heavy metal because that's where music was headed.

Eventually, the metal began to grow viscious, and those who were already wearing the black clothing, etc., went to the underground with the metal. Fans of Carcass, CannibalCorpse, Macabre, and Six Feet Under weren't popular until underground metal started crawling to the surface of mainstream.

This is where your Slipknot, Saliva, older KoRn, Dimmu Borgir, and other such bands started appearing on the radio. People hearing some of this for the first time became attached quickly to this new sound.

Metalcore came out in the early 2000's (2004) when Bleeding Through, Dashboard Confessionals, and other such bands put music into a completely different form, a form that allowed for people to start... crying for no reason. I have been to an emo concert once and got thrown out for actually jumping around.

My reason for looking down on the Emo's is because skinny-boy style is NOT attractive, the hair over the face is stupid (only the bassist from the Misfits is allowed to do that), guys wearing PINK items subtly (WTF?), and of course, the music they listen to "makes them so depressed about losing this girl and they want to die" and that bugs the crap out of me.

Don't do it.

well that's ur choice (im glad ur not gonna cut your self) but anyway... i think theres like a stereotype for emo's and even though stereotypes are not true, its hard to make some people believe that! Like when you think of the word emo, most people think of black stuff, way toooo much make up and wrist slitting! But of course its not always true... just be your self and dont listen to what other people say! Its your choice and that should be fine by everyone else!

nothing is wrong with emos- your friends may be insecure or maybe don't care for the 'fashion' of the Emos!

it's who you are inside and how you interact with others and treat them- not what 'group' you are in or how you drress in plaid, etc. (or whatever emos are wearing nowadays!)

Does that mean emotional? Maybe you've got an explosive temper. That's hard to be around. Not knowing when a person's going to be set off. You should get a grip and not expect others to be what you want.

You might consider which is more important to you and to which you identify with more deeply .. your friends, or being emo. If it is being emo, you can make new friends who do support your identity. If your friends are more important, you might reconsider the emo decision.

Actions speak louder than words. Whoever your true friends are, they will stick by you no matter what they say. Do whatever it is that you do for YOURSELF and for nobody else (unless you meet a hot girl and wanna go out w/ her hahaha)

You have to do what you want in life. If your friends are really your friends they will accept you the way you are. Sounds cheesy but it is true.
