Well for starters you statement is in error it's not only the majority of Christian denominations which do not support same sex marriage being the fact that Christians don't recognize these unions as being marriage in the first place because Jesus stated marriage is between a man and woman. And second the Orthodox Jews and Conservative Jews don't support same sex marriage as well as the Muslims so yes this is a matter of freedom of Religion. Now it wouldn't surprise me if the wording of the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights in the Constitution will be amended. And what you are implying is not about religious marriage but rather is about civil marriage also known as civil unions. The thing is the LGBT had made this into a religious issue because as Christians and I'm sure it's the same for Jews and Muslims and others of different religions to protect the sanctity of marriage so the LGBT brought war against those who oppose same sex marriage. And what will happen if same sex marriage is legalized it will affect those of other religions who do not support same sex marriage. For example a same sex couple wanting to get married within the Catholic Church because marriage is considered as a Sacrament of the Church they would deny this couple to be married and what will happen because this same sex couple's civil rights were violated for denying them to be married within the Catholic Church they could in turn take this to the courts in which because the Catholic Church would stand by her traditions the government could close down that particular church. So the same sex marriage civil right would be affecting the civil rights of everyone else in regards to freedom of religion.

it is not so much the sex act, but the emotion involvement and/ or physical attraction.
All of these are separate things.
