No one knows the day that Christ was born... Even the astrologers (aka: "wise men") did not find him until he was almost 3 years old..... No one knew....
Herod, who sought to kill him because he didn't want a child king to rise and take his throne, was looking for a baby who was already past the age he sought to find.......
Scripture gives no account of that day except how it was when the aka: "wise men" found him......
We do know that during the winter, it is impossible to survive in a barn.... I don't care how much straw is in the place.... That baby would have froze to death in swaddling clothes......
Except he be born in a warmer time of year..... some say harvest.....
no one knows truely......
your sister,
Ginger

We do not know the actual date of Jesus' birth, records were not kept then. Some clergy people picked the date many years later to overshadow the date of a pagan ritual.
We do not have to recognize the pagan traditions that we have attached to the celebration of his birth, and still celebrate, some people do this. No tree, or Yule log, or mistletoe. Just a gift to remember the gifts the Maji brought to the Christ Child, and a manger scene, and some candles to remember the Star in the East.
Since the Bible does not specify if and how we are to celebrate His birth, we can do so in our own way, if we wish to. With or without pagan traditions.
And if you want to know, I choose to have a tree. No yule log, the fireplace is small. And I have no need for mistletoe. and I have a nice manger scene, kept on a table, not hidden under the tree.
My tree has many frivolous ornaments, but there are reminders of home and hearth, and of nature and God's creatures, and I have some candy canes, to remember Christ with.

Christmas is a pagan holiday integrated into this country by the Catholics so they could enjoy Christmas also. At this Nations begining the people who belived in christmas were put into stocks into the street. The fact is that Jesus was not born on christmas day. The Catholics were just told that by their Pope so it would be ok to Celibrate the day just like the Pagans. After about two generations of it being ok to celebrate this holiday it was soon ok and now is blown so far out of proportion, Now it is our most major holiday every year. If you do not believe what I am saying do some research.

Perhaps we're not told the date because it's when Christ is born in our hearts that matters - and of course that would be many different dates for everyone. But just as light overcomes the darkness, we all bond together to celebrate that birth at this time in spite of what the pagans do. Personally, my heart is full of joy at this time and the rejoicing is hightened by our collective focus on the Savior. I do celebrate without reservation, because Jesus celebrated passover and other religious observances. My heart sings with great joy this time of year and I assure you, there is no stopping it. I wish you a Merry Christmas!

Well do what you feel like to do. Personally I enjoy few presents, the presence of my family, a good dinner, the pleasure to be together, something that too many people in America seem to ignore.

The date is not important to me, it's the meaning. So I celebrate Christmas freely.

Keep in mind that we use a different calendar now than we did then, so how would the date even correlate?
