When the blood comes down from thier foreheads then yes... it is real.. but dont believe that it came from a chairshot or being hit by the belt... I would say only like 5% of those shots actually make the wrestlers bleed. No if you look closely on some of these matches they keep a really small razor blade either in their taped up wrists,or the referee hands it to them ( notice when ever a chair shot happens, the cameras focus in on the guy who gave the blow, giving him a close up on his face, this gives the other guy enough time to cut himself with the blade and get rid of it.) A great example of this was the Hell in the cell match with DX Vs Mr McMahon, Shane McMahon and the Big Show. If you check out the DVD.. look at the part where Shane is about to do the "catapult" manuver to HHH. The camera angle was good enough to show HHH reaching up to his forehead with a tiny razor blade and run it across his skull. HHH was bleeding bad from that self inflicted cut that was supposed to be cause by his head hitting the cage.
Another sure sign is when they are thrown over the top and they land on the floor... or when they are run head first into the steel ring pole or whatever.. they always fall back and their head sometimes goes under the drape of the ring , away from the publics eyes and the camera. They are opening themselves up under there. or getting something for later.
Something for later? Yep.. ever seen guys spit up blood? and they have "internal injuries" from a wicked chair shot to the gut or this guys head was stuck inside of a folding chair and the villian comes stomping on the chair causing massive injuries?! Well they just popped a hollywood blood pill, mixed with spit it looks like blood coming up . That is fake.
Still.. I love the show. sometimes... you gotta sit back and think... wow... I think he messed up.. he wasnt supposed to bleed like that. I think some real cuts and injuries are Mick Foley's ear being ripped off against Vader. Yea.. you cant really fake that. another Foley match.. his I quit match against Ric Flair. Ric covered his right hand with barbed wire and chopped Mic in the chest... not much blood.. but the ending cuts on his chest were not pretty at all. very jagged and nasty.
One of the bloodiest matches i seen is with Tommy Dreamer. I believe it was "One Night Stand" somehow he got a cheese grater scraped across his forehead. Yes, A CHEESEGRATER! that opened him up like a water balloon. that was nasty!
the blood is real... most times.

The wrestling is staged, which does not mean that it is completely faked. Obviously throwing a person in the air means they must land, however the performers are experienced in falling and know how to do so without causing too much damage to themselves - naturally there are some falls that end up wrong or some falls that just cannot be overly faked (For instance Mankind being thrown off the steel cage). When the performers get hit they have specific ways of staging the hit, some wrestlers are known for having harder hits - such as Ric Flair's slaps, whilst others are known to fake the hits alot more. When getting his with chairs they once again have different ways to keep the real look but decrease the damage - this can be done by placing the hands in front of the face before being hit or by hitting the head with the middle and least damaging section of the chair. The bleeding is generally caused by a process called blading, which involved a hidden blade to cut into the skin and cause the bleed. This generally happens closer to the end of matches when the performers are sweating, the blood mixes with the sweat and creates the image that there is more blood than what there really is. Some athletes, such as Ric Flair, are very easy bleeders and can actually be cut open easily. The actual art is faking the bleed and the audience not being able to catch on.

Wrestling is scripted. The wrestlers know the ending and what's going to happen, but injuries often happen and they are athletes. And for the most part, the blood is real. This is often done by a process called blading, where at one point during the match, they pull out or are handed a small, hidden blade to give themselves a small cut on the forehead, just enough to induce blood. The thinned blood mixes with sweat, making it seems like there's more blood than there is, and the blade often is handed off to the referee, the fans none the wiser. The only other examples are either when real blood in induced by accident or when blood comes from the mouth, which is usually faked.

OoooH Yes! Its not on TNA (Sry TNA Fans but the resent scandle dictates). TNA use razorblades and pre-determine winners of the matches. However, WWE is full-throttle Gore and agany. Sure they have storylines thats to make it interesting for the people who don't always appreciate the sport and some rivalries aren't as real as their made out. BUT!!!! People have died in the ring, been paralysed, and various other complaints. I do wrestling myself and its real, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose - luckily ive not had anything serious but its the adrenline that keeps you going and gives you that second wind - Try the true sport yourself and then decide. WWE ,!,,! Rocks

I heard on a wrestling documentary that the blood is real just that the wrestlers cut themselves intentionally with a real thin razor blade. Don't know how they hide or get rid of the blade without the audience seeing it. None of the cuts are actually caused by objects such as the belts, chair, ladder, etc.

most of it is real most is in little blood packets that they hide in their close and under wrist bands and stuff so they are not all that cut up and bloody but then again a lot more than you would think is real but they are just tiny cuts that bleed a lot!!!
