What two ways are California's legislature like the U.S Congress and what two ways are they different? During what part of the year does the state legislature meet and for howmony months? What recent piece of legislation did California legislature pass?

I can tell you how they are the same:

1. There are two house, the House of Representatives & the Senate, just like the U.S. Congress,

2. They are endowed with similar powers (although U.S. Congress has more) such as approving the states yearly operating budget, approving & cutting programs, passing news laws, and adding amendments onto the California State Constitution.

I'm not sure how they'd be different. They obviously don't have the power to declare war on another country, like the U.S. Congress does.
