its a relegion its just ure beliefs- it does not DEFINE who u are- ure parents do ure upbringing does.
terroism is due to confliction in religion. racism can be due to that too- u see a brown person oh ure a muslim- URE NOT u can be hindu, buddhist, sikh anything. so why is religion so important these days.

i don't see how it is an ignorant Q cuz what i want to know is if u ureself as a person has been defined as one religion or the other by the way u LOOK.
now think of this i am a brown person i get defined as a muslim BY IGNORANT PPL.
BUT I AM NOT- so is that fair??
is it fair do define a jewish individual from their looks which they did do in WWII
so we care about religion ALOT.
what would not be an ignorant question then, its ure view point is it not.

I know I care about SPIRITUALITY.....religion is a set of beliefs.....I have alot of different beliefs that are from all kinds of different religious backgrounds......I am like you in a way....no, I don't think you are offensive, I guess people have to just set rules for themselves or something and follow them or they are as they say "damned for hell".....but I am one of the most spiritual people I know...yet I am cool, too....I listen to rap and hip hop music...watch horror films....things most people with "religion" don't believe in.....I say it this way......if a person wants to be religious...then be that way....just keep it to yourself and not bug or pressure others to believe or accept your beliefs as their own.....help any?....lol

You may wish to reconsider posting another copy of this to the religion section, if you haven't done so already. You may get a more spiritual insight. Personally, I am not religious and have no desire to be, however I don't look down on those who have their set beliefs. An upbringing from parents is not the issue; when we get older we presume too much and appeal to others for validation. Your statement on terrorism conflicting towards religion and racism... that's been around for over 2000 years. Religion as history IS important if you plan on achieving a deeper understanding of the world around us- by reading, studying and making your own decisions.

1. Beliefs are important. As you believe, so you will act. If groups of people have consistency in their beliefs, they will have a consistent set of expectations of others and standards for themselves.
2. If you consider your faith as a bargain with God for your salvation, it becomes the most important thing.
3. If you believe that the tenets of your religion are information direct from God, then you are obligated to comply or suffer the consequences.
People who are enthralled by a religious belief cannot see that they are human beings first, and members of a religion second. Nor can they see that the sensations of faith and inspiration are universal.
It is all very curious.

I guess all religions were created with the sole purpose of bringing happiness and peace to mankind. But as always we have become too obsessed with the other side of the coin..and have taken to lot of intolerance towards other religions. I just hope someday soon the concept of One world and One religion will come true. Well, frankly speaking when people have not much to do they tend to create unnecessary problems to keep themselves busy...when the real catastrophe will seem not too far, I guess people will learn how to forget the false fights and engage in the real fight for survival.

To many people, their religion does define who they are and why they're here. That's an ignorant question, and I mean that in the best way possible.

You are right in a way......Religion is important, and a part of everyday life for alot of people. However, some have their own type of worship, religion........and it becomes destructive, as you said.
I believe there is only one God in this entire universe.
To each their own. My cousins are ministers, and I grew up
with God in our lives, and passed it on too my children, and they to their children.
Excellent question!!

i beg to disagree, our beliefs are the basic definition of who we are. whether you believe in God, the government, freedom of choice or anything else. the basis of our life's decisions depend on what we believe in. and if you truly believe in whatever it is you choose to believe in, then, you deeply care about that belief. Hence, people who believe in Catholicism, Hinduism, Islam - they all, i mean we all CARE about our religion. terrorism is not caused by religion - terrorism and racism are caused by man's inability to tolerate and respect the beliefs of others.

I am not so sure but this talk about religion is a touchy subject. I think since terroist attacked people have been more racial so they conclude what their religion is and it is stupid.

Anything taken to the extreme can be harmful. I don't care much about religion, but my relationship with God means everything to me. :)
