a statistically correct test will have an even amount of answers for all categories, allowing for quantity of questions asked.
in reality, most teachers do not make statistically correct tests.
i would say there are more true and a answers from the run of the mill tests.

The one that looks least likely to be chosen as the correct one. Test writers are trying to suck you into picking any answer but the correct one, so anything that looks even remotely correct should be avoided. The correct one is the one that most people would be inclined to think is incorrect and pass up.

C when in doubt always pick C. If you don't know the answer to a question it's better to pick the same guess every time and if you can eliminate one or more of the options. It's not really work well enough to pass a test without studying at all but it helps.

I was also told by a psych teacher in college that it was "C", however I can't remember his explanation.
I had hoped to find a reliable (or at least somewhat reliable) link for the theory, but I can't!

Depends on the org/ person conducting the test.
There is one thing for sure - while taking the test, your first guess/choice is your best try. Don't cross over it or don't think twice. Go for your first choice!

If it's a badly designed test? Your guess is as good as mine.
