this is something for a school paper. I need some reasons why you would inform and or why you wouldn't.
I am looking mainly for reasons not to inform, so please, if you have anything, type type, type!

it's not like a school news paper, more like a persuasive essay. I have to give an oposing view, and give a rebuttle.

i of course like many of you also believe that you should inform, but I need people to fight against what I am saying, even if you believe that you should inform as well. Give as many reasons as to why a student might not inform. Be creative.

People might not inform school officials because
They may not sure whether the dangerous thing that they overheard was true or not.
They may be frightened with the thought of being interviewed by police officers or being asked as a witness in front of the court or anything that relates to legal matters.
They fear that if they speak out the upcoming danger people would not listen to them but making fun of them instead.
They worry that if they tell the officials, they might get revenged from the people who cause the danger.

Hope this help!

well some reasons some people (espically a grade schooler) might not realize the seriousness of the threat. They may be afraid of getting in trouble or being associated with the treat. Maybe afraid of the student that said the treat. These are just a few that popped in my head. But I'm hoping that most people would inform the officials.

that actually happened only my friend was the one that told the principal. grrr. so then the fight was canceled and there where people with weapons and everything. those guys should have run before the teachers cought them! anyway, the girl that told on them were treated really badly for the next few days.

but then again, not many people read the school paper. i only know a few who actually READs them not flip though.

yes
There is no good reason to not inform.

If you believe the threat is credible and do nothing, then you are just as guilty as those who cause the harm.

That's a tough essay. Is this a debate class?

They could be worried about retalliation from the people making the threats.

They could not think it's credible.

I can't think of any reason NOT to inform. Unless you wanted all your friends and peers DEAD. There's no beauty in that. I'd be a hero, and go and dob.
