Supposedly, it can be life threatening but, how can you prevent yourself from dreaming?? Someone else could deprive you of the sleeping stage you need to reach in order to dream, but it would be pretty tricky to do that yourself. You could try setting a timer, or an alarm, but after you became so tired, you would fall into that stage almost immediately.

Dreams have a way of sorting out your memories and thoughts. Heightened adrenaline increases memory. I do imagine it'd do harm, but I'm not quite sure about not dreaming being fatal. I don't doubt the possibility in any case.

Only if the way you prevent the dreams is avoiding sleep altogether.

Err, the only thing I can think of is that if you don't sleep, it can wreak havoc on your body. Sleep is when your body recovers but I don't think preventing a dream will kill you.

it is not true and you cant prevent your self from dreaming,
unless you use drugs to become totally blotto,
or hit your self over the head with a brick so that you are unconcious

You can't prevent yourself from dreaming.
If you don't dream, you aren't sleeping.
