WHY were there only a few episodes of "LOST" when the season only just began the first of October?

Now we have to wait until February......I don't understand why they did that.......I checked abc.com didnt get any info.

Absolutely agree with you. I was baffled when they ended the season abruptly. I'm a huge fan too, and I must say, all this waiting till february is getting me cranky. Though the third season definitely provided some answers, it conveniently raised another set of doubts. I have no doubt this series is so intertextual, it equals T.S. Eliot's 'The Wasteland' in complexity. Maybe the third season was meant to be an interlink, an important one at that!! Keep looking at the website for more clues. Ciao!!

also because they had too rearrange other shows schedules including new shows. They think lost has a strong following so they can delay it a few months. Also this means in the spring part of the season, the epis will be more frequent

They did it because alot of the fans were complaining about all of the reruns last season so this time they are just showing new episodes so during the break another show is in it's place.

i would say it is because the show is boring and it reflects a dramatized version of Gilligan's Island. I mean they have been stranded on the island for two years now and their teeth are still pearly white and the women's legs are shaved and silky smooth.
I think Evangeline Lilly is beautiful, but after two years of being deserted on an island, I think she would start to look like crack-whore sasquatch woman! HOORAH!!!

i think that they did that to create more tension and hype... so the show with get more watchers hehe i love that show i cant beleieve they did that...
