If you're looking for free word processors, then there are many available online to download. You can find a couple by just searching for a word processor on download.com. Since they are free, you can't quite be sure how reliable they will be, or if they will open up certain document formats. There are even a few completely online word processors that you can open-up and use in your internet browser like google docs and spreadsheets.
If you can't find a good one, then you can always take a quick trip down to the computer store and ask them if they have any word processing programs. ask specifically for only a word processing program if you want to keep the cost lower

You may already have one. Some computers come with Microsoft Word for Windows installed on them. It is a basic word processor. If you want to move up, Microsoft's "Office Basic 2003" will probably fill the bill. If you can wait till Vista arrives, a new version of "Office" is due to be released with it.
