I live in Milwaukee, our city has a demacratic Mayor, a commun council domanated buy demacrates, our county supervisors are predomanently demacrates, our school board is all demacrates, we have a demacrate as a district attorny, Milwaukee is a demacraticly run city and it has been for decades. Yet for a city it's size, we are tenth in the nation as a violent city, we have one of the highest teenage pregnacy rates in the nation, a few months ago we were voted the angryest city in the nation, we have one of the highest drop out rates of high school students in the nation, we were told today that over half of the ninth graders in the Milwaukee school systum are truent, we have a understaffed Police department, 225 openings, (which has a demacratic Police Cheif), It just goes on and on. So why do you all out there who helped put them back in charge of this country think things are going to get better, they aren't here. Maybe when we get hit again it'll be a sobering wake up call to you all

People just dont' get it! You need balance. You can't just have one party all the way. To much to one side or the other side is a negative. Not all issues will get resolved however it will prevent one party from going to far to the left or the right.
When two different parties come together and they do it with the best interest of the people who voted them you then things can be accomplished.
Look at California, You have a republican governor but the rest of it is democrat. They keep each other in check and work a little harder to come up with better solution which benefit the voters.

I really like this question! What I'd like even more is for Milwaukee to be the billboard for the U.S. on what happens when Democrats are in charge. You know ... no one LIKES the war, but Bush has tried to do alot for this country, and Congress has continually blocked him from succeeding in most things. And as for the war, we did nothing to provoke it -- the terrorists targeted us and killed us! How did the Democrats WANT him to answer that huge blow??? Well, a city run by Democrats that get their way will certainly go down in ruins, but not before every last hard working individual there is TAXED to death. On top of that, the town will be over-run with "poor folks who are "encouraged to stay that way because of
the FREE money they're rewarded, because they stay at home and have boyfriends, girlfriends and make more babies together. Remember, Democrats fight AGAINST marriage, unless it's for gay people. Everthing you listed is exactly what Democrats fight FOR!!! Teenage pregnancy - they encourage condoms in schools instead of abstinence and they don't want teenage girls to have to tell their parent's they'll be getting an abortion! That's another point ... they're for killing babies! The school dropout rate - they fight to make the teachers have to dumb-down the curriculum, "so no one will feel stupid". There's not alot of challenge for these young minds, and "as to not hurt anyone's feelings", the teachers aren't even allowed to correct spelling in many schools. The kids hardly have a chance to get ahead in the first place. As for the hard working police, they're out to get the criminals, but the Democrats want criminals to have more rights than the poor victims of their crimes! Being angry ... that's all the Democrats do is bash anything good ... and on top of it, when all the hard working people are having their hard earned money taken away from them and their families, no wonder everyone's so angry! No, the truth is that Democrats will never make life better. I'm sad for you that you and all the good folks there have to live in the midst of a Democratic Demoralizing Demolition of Life. Best of Luck to all the good folks out there!

Don't bet your house on it. I feel your pain as Clinton used to say. In Cincinnati and the county the Dems are in charge and of course they made all kinds of claims during election time but as I know from many years experience things won't get better and taxes will rise. The solution I believe is to work hard to develop another party and elect proven good men who will stop all the wasteful spending(many billions a year) and who will do what they are supposed to do .Fix our infrastucture, defend the country and follow the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Not make this a Socialist country.

Contemplate This:

Democratic Logic.

And now she is Speaker of the House!!!!!!!!! Third in line for the Presidency.

Don't think it won't happen, this is how Gerald Ford became President.

Obviously, this woman has a very limited knowledge of economics! She is almost as scary as Hillary.

Nancy Pelosi condemned the new record highs of the stock market as "just another example of Bush policies helping the rich get richer".

"First Bush cut taxes for the rich and the economy has rebounded with new record low unemployment rates, which only means wealthy employers are getting even wealthier at the expense of the underpaid working class".

She went on to say "Despite the billions of dollars being spent in Iraq our economy is still strong and government tax revenues are at all time highs. "What this really means is" that business is exploiting the war effort and working Americans, just to put money in their own pockets".

When questioned about recent stock market highs she responded "Only the rich benefit from these record highs. Working Americans, welfare recipients, the unemployed and minorities are not sharing in these obscene record highs".

"There is no question these windfall profits and income created by the Bush administration need to be taxed at 100% rate and those dollars redistributed to the poor and working class".

"Profits from the stock market do not reward the hard work of our
working class who, by their hard work, are responsible for generating these corporate profits that create stock market profits for the rich.

We in congress will need to address this issue to either tax these
profits or to control the stock market to prevent this unearned income to flow to the rich".

When asked about the fact that over 80% of all Americans have
investments in mutual funds, retirement funds, 401K's, and the stock market she replied "That may be true, but probably only 5% account for 90% of all these investment dollars. That's just more "trickle down" economics claiming that if a corporation is successful that everyone from the CEO to the floor sweeper benefit from higher wages and job security which is ridiculous". How much of this "trickle down" ever get to the unemployed and minorities in our county? None, and that's the tragedy of these stock market highs."

"We democrats are going to address this issue after the election when we take control of the congress. We will return to the 60% to 80% tax rates on the rich and we will be able to take at least 30% of all current lower Federal Income Tax taxpayers off the roles and increase government income substantially. We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest."

When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied "We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example, we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long ways to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as"Americans"

A Bush spokesman responded to this interview by saying "Mrs. Pelosi has set a new standard for the spin business".

Honey, I lived in a city that is known as one of the most Republican, conservative, and racist cities in the US. We were in the top 5 for violent crime, esp murder. Our firends from New YorK couldn't believe that a po-dunkus place like Columbia, SC, colud have a higher murder rate than NYC! Our illiteracy rates were among the highest and our teen pregnancy rates were tops. All under a republican house and senate. And, for some reason, lots of states seem to vie for the lowest in educatoinal marks-- i.e., worst schools....

It's not the party, it;s the way of the world... Grow up and get over the partisan politics bu!!$hit. Things suck all over....

I live in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

During the last 6 years of a Republican run Congress with a Republican President:

- the national debt has doubled
- we have recorded 5 record deficits
- health insurance premiums have doubled
- college tuition has doubled
- real income has gone down every year
- millions have fallen into the ranks of poverty
- home foreclosures are at an all time high
- corruption in politics is rampant
- we have been involved in a war in Iraq longer than we were involved in WWII
- Ossama bin Laden has not been captured
and so on , and so on................

could the Democrats possibly do worse???????????????

I seriously doubt it. Politicans make all sorts of promises before they get elected. But as soon as they come into power, they forget the whole reason why us citizens elected them.

A clear example would be Nancy Pelosi's pledge to get 6 things done ( I forget what they were) . After democrats controlled the House, all the sudden thoese issues seemed to disappear. Makes me want to run and set them straight. Grrrr

How big is your budget and who allocates the funds and determines the tax codes? If its the state or federal authorities, better check if they're on the right. If its your local democrats, they've got a bit of that "let's not spend jack on the people!" mentality that tends to go with the right.

I am just wondering, did you finish school? The city council, the mayor, democrats or republicans can only do so much. People have to care about their city and themselves. You can blame it all on someone else but get real, you have to grab your own boot straps and get on with it.
