it is possible but you will not like the results...unless you are looking for style...but if you want to have a comfortable ride you may want to check out the website i linked to this and determine for yourself...your stocks are at 225/60/16...
another good place to go is tirerack.com they may not have the more current rims but everything they do stock is more then recommended for your ride....

An unmodified impala for 2001 can fit 21s, but there is some rub and it makes it a very rough ride.
Any size larger should require modification, either bending the fenders, or removing the splash guards.
Also it depends on the tire size.
